Challenge
This project involved significant challenge from our client who was looking to overcome the needs of the business to recycle anaerobic digestate during autumn, versus the requirements of legislation e.g. Nitrate Vulnerable Zones and PAS110 Quality Protocol obligations. In consultation with the client a halfway house position was achieved, allowing for justification to spread a proportion of the digestate in autumn while surface dressing a second application in the spring. Ultimately, technical understanding and soil science expertise enabled PAG Consultancy to deliver a result to clients satisfaction.
Ultimately, value to be achieved in this project, for our client, were seen through the savings in potential losses of plant nutrients over winter through leaching and/or overland flow, but more so through offsetting the potential costs of potential environmental pollution or legal costs as a consequence of prosecution. Where, less qualified or diligent organisations might have swayed to customer opinion, PAG Consultancy prides itself on giving technical based consultancy to the benefit of all concerned.
